The tradeoff is complexity: AWS's flexibility means it's easy to over-provision or under-secure if you don't have the right expertise architecting it.

Our approach
We architect AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or AWS CDK) so environments are reproducible and version-controlled, not manually clicked together in the console. We default to managed services (RDS over self-hosted databases, ECS/Fargate over manually managed EC2 fleets) wherever they reduce operational burden without meaningfully increasing cost. Every AWS engagement includes a security review covering IAM least-privilege access, VPC architecture, and encryption at rest and in transit. Cost optimization
A significant share of our AWS work is actually cost optimization for existing deployments — right-sizing over-provisioned instances, moving appropriate workloads to spot instances or serverless, and eliminating the "forgotten resources" that quietly inflate cloud bills.
